Foreign employees in Vietnam are protected by the same labour law as Vietnamese employees, but enforcing those rights is complicated by language, by the link between the job and the residence permit, and by the pressure to leave quickly.

Do not sign a resignation letter presented as a formality. Resigning usually removes the claims that dismissal would have given you.
